Over time the hydraulic pistons that keep the Aston Martin DB9 hood open simply start to fail. Once they go the hood will not stay open and will slowly creep closed. If they're really trashed the door will simply shut on its own. Sold as a single piston. Please buy 2 in order to replace BOTH pistons (highly recommended).
