it looks nice once you put it on however the moments the car goes into the car wash all the edges start to stick up and dont stay down

There is a clear layer that must be removed after the film is applied. I assume that is what you are referring to? If not, the suface must not have been prepped well enough to allow the sticker adhesive to properly bond to the chrome trim.

This kit is ONLY for the gen1 MINI (R50, R52 and R53 models) and s 1/2" wide. Please note the year and model range listed below to confirm you are ordering the correct part for your MINI.

We have a alternate kit that is 5/8" wide which is for the gen2 and gen3 models.

Also note, these are NOW AVAILABLE in both MATTE or GLOSSY- see drop down menu for options- image shown is MATTE. This kit contains enough to do a full MINI beltline.

This is a exterior grade automotive pinstriping material that is supplied as a roll and is ready to be applied. Our local friend Mark came by one day with his (very nice) black Cooper S to show us his blacked out beltline (the chrome strip that runs around the car right where the windows transition into the body panels) that he had just installed. It looked amazing so we decided to offer a similar kit to our customers. This black film covers the stock chrome trim and is available in Glossy or Matte Black. The width is perfect to cover the trim just right leaving your car with a little less bling. Kit includes enough film to do one car with a few inches for testing. Applies just like any masking tape. Please note once installed the special protective clear top layer (on top of the black) needs to be removed.

The best way to install this is to pre cut the tape to match the length of each body panel you are working on and leave about 1/2" extra. Start by pulling back about 18" of the backing and adhere the first inch or and put a LITTLE bit of tension on the tape and hold it about 1/4" off the surface while looking down the edge to see how it lines up with the black rubber lip on the edge of the chrome. Twist it just a bit to get the top edge to butt against the black lip and slowly press down on the film towards you. Once it is in place move on to the next span.

Bought, received, and installed. If you own a Mini Cooper... Bookmark this website. I purchase shocks for my hatchback and installed them in minutes.... MINUTES! Before I knew it they were here.
